drug war?
I would think that by now the powers that be would realize that the war on drugs is futile. To put in the words of one of the DAs on Law&Order, it's like bailing out the ocean with a teaspoon. By making these things available to those that want them, we would actually become a truly free country. I think that this is not likely to happen for many reasons known and unknown. Right now in this country and others too, the illegal sale of street drugs is the cause of gangs, tons of money lost leaving the country, 50% of the prisoners in our jails and billions of dollars sprnt trying to control this problem. It is my contention that making these drugs legal would not totally eliminate these problems but would greatly relieve them. If this were to happen I believe that there could be free or low cost healthcare to everybody, new jobs would develop in this country and in all the countries that produce opium, cocaine, heroin and marijuana. I believe that the time has come for a real change in this country as our new President has promised. It's time for the people that want this to happen to let it be known.
